Students taking an exam through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) can take it with our partners at Zenith Career Services! Altamont Healthcare students will receive one free NCCT test attempt, all subsequent attempts will cost $20.
Tech in Surgery Exam Application
Students taking an exam through the Central Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc. (CBSPD Inc.) must physically mail their application to CBSPD, 1392 US Hwy 22, Suite #1, LEBANON, NJ 08833. To take the test, you must register with PSI Exams. Stockton students should consider taking the exam at the PSI Test Site located at Zenith Career Services.

Consider our Externship Program!
Congratulations to our graduates who have passed the certification exam! You’re now a board-certified healthcare worker! Now that you have that crucial step, it’s time to get some real-world experience.
Our externship program provides you with a door into the industry. We will place you into a hospital within our network for 200-400 (unpaid) hours. A career-building workshop is included in addition to the externship; it will focus on resume creation, employment preparation, and workplace professionalism.
Externships are not necessary to get a job in a healthcare setting. This program exists to grant students a direct path into their new careers. Successful externs may be offered jobs upon completion, depending on performance, availability, and the number of open positions.
